A King’s Lament

Themes: Dramatic
Length: 30 Seconds
Gender: Male

The king stands at the edge of the throne room, looking out over his kingdom with a heavy heart.

My kingdom, once so mighty, now crumbles before my eyes. Treachery and deceit, like a foul wind, have swept through these hallowed halls. Friends, once trusted, now don masks of betrayal. The weight of this crown grows heavier with each passing moment, a burden too great for any mortal to bear. Oh, how the fates have conspired against me! I see now, too late, the folly of my ambitions. To be king was my dream, but the throne is a cold, lonely place. What solace is there in power when love and loyalty are but illusions?
