The speaker stands center stage, visibly tense, occasionally pacing back and forth as if the weight of his thoughts is too much to bear. He pauses at moments, staring into the distance, lost in his contemplation.
I once thought power was about control. The ability to bend others to your will, to dictate the direction of their lives. But now I see it’s not about that at all. Power is about secrets. It’s about knowing things others don’t, things that can shift the balance of the world.
You see, I hold a secret so immense, it could topple governments and shatter families. It’s a burden, really. A heavy, relentless weight pressing down on my shoulders every single day. I can’t sleep, can’t think straight, because this secret pulses in my mind, demanding to be acknowledged.
People think I’m powerful because of my position, my wealth, my influence. But no, it’s this secret that gives me real power. It’s the knowledge that makes me powerful, yet it’s also the knowledge that chains me, that keeps me up at night, staring at the ceiling, wondering if today is the day someone else finds out.
I didn’t choose this. It was thrust upon me, like a curse. I wish I could go back to when I was ignorant, when I was just another face in the crowd. But there’s no turning back. Now, I must live with this secret, and the power it brings, for better or worse. And every day, I wonder if it’s worth it. If power is worth the price of my soul.
